PINE PRAIRIE - Funeral services will be held for Janelle Fontenot Ellis, 66, of Oakdale, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie at 2 p.m., today, January 2. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellis died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at the Grace Home in Alexandria. She was born May 9, 1947, in Ville Platte to the union of Leo B. and Mary Louise Lanclos Fontenot. She was a beloved member of the community and could frequently be found spending time with family and friends or out garage sale shopping with her loving husband. With an incredible love for life and family, her joy for cooking made it easy to bring everyone together.
Survivors include her husband and soul mate of 18 years, Eneal Ellis Jr. of Pine Prairie; four children, Victor Fontenot and Michael Almaraz, both of Pearland, Texas, Janelle Fontenot of Clearlake, Texas, and Davy Almaraz and his wife, Carol, of Clarksville, Tennessee; and three brothers, Winston Fontenot and his wife, Donetta, of Ville Platte, Joe Fontenot and his wife, Lou, of Prairie Ronde and Verlin Fontenot and his wife, Barbra, of Eunice. Her amazing children provided her a tremendous amount of joy by blessing her with 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also will be missed by a host of family and friends.
Pall bearers honored to serve will be Victor Fontenot, Michael Almaraz, Eneal Ellis Jr., Jimmy O’Neal, Jerry O’Neal and Evan McGee.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Mary Fontenot of Oakdale for all of her help and support.
Father Richard Broussard will officiate.
White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale will be in charge of arrangements.
